About Valkyrie Flight Group

BUILT FOR PILOTS
WHO ARE SERIOUS.

VFG exists for one reason: to train pilots the right way, in an airplane worth flying. That means real cross-country capability, real IFR, and a CFI who takes your training as seriously as you do.

Chief Flight Instructor

CHARLES AMAN

Charles is a CFI and CFII with around 400 total hours. He built Valkyrie Flight Group from the ground up because he was convinced there was a better way to train — and that the airplane you learn in matters as much as the instructor you fly with.

Training with Charles means you know where you stand after every flight. He doesn't chase milestones for their own sake — he cares whether you're actually developing judgment. Expect direct feedback, high standards, and an instructor who treats your certificate like it matters.

VFG is a deliberate operation — small by design, focused on quality over volume. You won't be handed off to a rotating roster of instructors. You'll fly with Charles, period.

The Aircraft

WHY THE DAKOTA?

The Piper Dakota isn't the most popular trainer — it's not the cheapest to operate and it doesn't let bad habits slide. That's exactly why we fly it. A student who learns in the Dakota develops habits that carry into every airplane they'll fly afterward. The performance margins you don't have in training become the skills you actually use.

As a rental, the case is straightforward. Four seats at full fuel. Seventy-two gallons usable. Real useful load, real range, real cross-country capability. There are cheaper airplanes to rent — but not many that can take four people and their gear on a real trip without making you leave someone behind.
